Another Nomination
Terry Ehret's Lucky Break has been nominated for the Northern California Book Award in Poetry. The awards ceremony will be held Sunday, April 19 at the Koret Auditorium at the San Francisco Main Library, 100 Larkin at Grove, at 1:00pm. Immediately after the ceremony, a reception and book signing will be held in the Latino/Hispanic Room. The ceremony and reception are free to the public, and Sixteen Rivers would be pleased and honored to have our readers and supporters attend.

New Books for 2009


Two great new books are coming out from Sixteen Rivers Press in 2009. Light, Moving by Carolyn Miller and Again by Lynne Knight. Deserved Recognition
Congratulations to Sixteen Rivers member Helen Wickes (In Search of Landscape, 2007). Her poem "The World as You Left It" has been chosen for inclusion in the 2009 Best of the Web anthology published by Dzanc Books. The poem was originally published in AGNI Online and was nominated by Sven Birkets, AGNI editor.
Poetry Class
Sixteen Rivers member Margaret Kaufman (Snake at the Wrist, 2002) will teach a poetry class with the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning through the University of San Francisco. An Open House will be held on Wednesday, April 8 with the class beginning Thursday, April 16. One of 2008's Top Ten
End of the year best-of lists don't usually focus on poetry, but there are a few and Sixteen Rivers is proud to announce that Dan Bellm's newest book, Practice, is listed on the Virginia Quarterly Review's Top 10 Poetry Books of 2008 list. Sixteen Rivers Wins NEA Grant.
2008 has ended with great news for Sixteen Rivers Press. Not only was the press awarded an NEA grant, but Lynne Knight (Again, 2009) was awarded an individual NEA grant. We are very excited about the press's award and thrilled for Lynne as well.
