One of 2008's Top Ten

End of the year best-of lists don't usually focus on poetry, but there are a few and Sixteen Rivers is proud to announce that Dan Bellm's newest book, Practice, is listed on the Virginia Quarterly Review's Top 10 Poetry Books of 2008 list. We here at Sixteen Rivers know this is a fantastic book, and it is great to see others recognizing this as well. Check out the list at this link:

Dan has also had one of his poems entitled "The Crossing" from his Practice (Sixteen Rivers Press, 2008) selected for Best Gay Poetry of 2008 edited by Lawrence Schimmel and published by Midsummer Night's Press. Congratulations, Dan, on this well-deserved recognition.

Sixteen Rivers Wins NEA Grant.

2008 has ended with great news for Sixteen Rivers Press. Not only was the press awarded an NEA grant, but Lynne Knight (Again, 2009) was awarded an individual NEA grant. We are very excited about the press's award and thrilled for Lynne as well.
